Babes is getting a RAGTOP!!!!

Say it's true... YES! "Babes", JV's SuperBeetle, is getting a ragtop to be installed by Noni Sagun (a well respected all-around VW guy based in Cubao).. What convinced JV to install a ragtop on his Super? Well, we still don't know up to this writing..Goodluck to JV and babes.. The photos above by the way show early pics of Babes taken during the 90's.. As you can see the bug is still in its original color -Atlas White (factory color for most VWs).

Last night the Volkswagen Club of the Philippines was featured in Jojo Alejar's talkshow called "The Not so late Night Show with JoJo-A... All the Way!!!" Our cars were the highlight of show together with interesting stories and information about the VW Club. The team, led by Sir Doy Bondoc and Ed Roces, were all present together with the FAFIs and other members of the board.. JoJo's a really cool guy, his Jay Leno antics and Connan O' Brien looks was hilarious.. "JoJo-A...All the way!!!"

Pau and Ej's Victory Party and New Year Celebration

The victory party was set on the first weekend of the year, 6 bugs took off on Saturday morning and headed to Plaridel-Bulacan (Ej's hometown province)... The "Bug-run" of course wasn't an official club activity. It was more of a happy gathering out of town. The VW afficionados led by the FAFIs had a heavy lunch at Aling Nena's Fried itik, a very popular restuaruant which serves the best of Bulacan's native food... Fried itik, Tapang baboy ramo, Sisig, Liempo, Sinampalukang manok were served.. Those present were the former VWCP Presidents Mr. Doy Bondoc and Eric Narciso together with Jon and Sheryl, JV, Orly, Pau and Cheryl, Oscar, Van, Cerville, and Ej. Other friends present were Eggy Ramos (Ej's cousin) and Chris Velasco - previous owner of Ej's VW.

2006 VWCP Christmas Party

The VW Club's Christmas Party took place at Jade Valley Chinese Restaurant in Kamuning, Quezon City last December 19, 2006. It was a great opportunity for everyone to share the spirit of Christmas by exchanging gifts and greeting one another. Perhaps one of the party's highlights was the arrival of Jaz and his wife, Amor (a.k.a LadyBug in the forums).. The two were reunited after almost a year and will be spending Christmas and New Year together.

Other things which took place over the party was the intorduction of the Club's new members, Sheryl Leynes, Amor Pineda, David Daza and Cjay Caguicla...

2006 VWCP Annual Classics Show: Veedub Parin!

The VWCP Annual Classics Car Show proved to be a huge success despite the rain. 2 Fafis were victorious at the end of the day, Paulo Nasol bagged the people's choice award with 44 votes and Ej Esguerra's Super Beetle won the Best in Class Category.. The event took place on rainy Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Fort Bonifacio Naval Grounds. The show was organized for those who had the passion for the "People's Car", a mini concert was set up on stage for the first time, together with food booths, swap meets, and body tatoos. Several VW Club Chapters were also present , Baguio, Laguna, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga and much much more! Our friends from the South, led by Mr. Nito Cruz, and people from Visayas and Marikina also made their presence felt. The show was really packed making almost like a Woodstock event!!! Congratulations to the winners and organizers!!!Above is a glympse of the car show taken during the afternoon.

The Fafis in FHM November 2006 Issue

Its finally here! The VWCP FAFIs are featured in Super-Bong's segment in this month's FHM (For Him Magazine)issue. Here's how the story goes according to the feature article: Super-Bong and his friend were invited by direkG to participate in a "Beatle's" party, the two became too excited to the point that they dressed up like John Lennon and Ringo Starr.. Apparently, the "best of friends" had other expectations and didn't have any clue what they were getting themselves into.. They discovered later on that it was a "VW Beetle" gathering afterall...

The FAFIs are the Furious: The Macapagal Autocross

The FAFI Team led by JV Cruz and Ej Esguerra participated in the much awaited Autocross held at Macapagal near Roxas Boulevard in Manila. Other VW participants were Club president Doc Cesar AMrtinez together with his "Ocho" and Armand Hipolito of the Marikina Boys. JV was Pilot while EJ played as the navigator and documented the run. JV's finish was quite an impressive 55.2 seconds - Not bad for a first time Auto-crosser!!! This is indeed another one for the FAFI books..
